Informatics is teaching us many different things about technology and how to manuver in the upcoming years of technology to come. I am beginning to get the understanding of the class and what it is meant for and what we are to be learning, at first i was a little uncertain of what was going to be required of us in this class. We allo went over chapters 1 and 2 in Informatics which talked about the Major Theories Supporting Health Care Informatics and Chapter 2 dealth with Computer Information and health Care Informatics Literacy. I learned the meaning of some new wods such as truncation which are symbols used to help spell out words or to help give the meaning of a word.There are a lot of terms that i am beginning to put into my technology vocabulary bcaause of informatics. i really enjoyed learing about new technology from Mrs. Jones and the information she did teach.....have a great summer

Something that I have larned from this course is about "Snagit" which is a online resource. With Snagit you can do alot of different things such as share exactly what you see. You can also capture an image from an online catalog, and email them to friends and family. You can also capture an error message and email it technical support. It is also possible to add visual impact to presentations. It is also easy to embed screen recordings and videos in flash format. SnagIt offers You can also add engaging Sites and Presentations with Interactive Captures, such as clickable areas that take the viewer directly to a specific web page. If you have business this resource helps you to online store images with discriptive text that appears when customers search for different products from their store, this feature includes interctive powerpoint presentations to engage the audiences attention. With SnagIt you can capture anything such as articles, images, web links, windows application, windows that scroll, and menus. You can also edit texts, cut, crop, resize, adjust color, spotlight, magnify, and add the following; callouts, edge effects, interactive areas, arrows, stamps, shapes, and clickable links. With Snagit you can easily email, print, save, send by im, upload, and copy and paste. This is just a little of what I have learned about SnagIt.

On last week we went to the University of Alabama's Roger Science Library to get an orientation to CINHAL and different databases. There library has a lot of different resources and journals that we can access to help with research. We also was oriented to the University of Alabama's cataglog and how to go online to access their web page. Nursing Informatics

I am looking forward to the experience to come in nursing informatics. I think that i will learn alot of valuable information concerning nursing and electronic communication, and documenting. What I have read so far is that this course will help better us in understanding nursing in the clinical setting, nursing informtion systems and different applications. This course will also enhance our cognitive thinking skills and technological skills. With having Mrs. Jones as the instructor I am learning about alot of new and different search engines to utilize to help me with this course, and how to better understand it. During the course of this semester I hope to learn how to utilze policy regulating, intergrate computer technology in the nursing practice. I hope to learn and understand databases, and learn all there is to know about the clinical setting. Blogging is something that I have never done, but learning to understand.
